Community Guidelines
Volk is a place to share what you think, make things, and talk to people. These guidelines explain what is and isn't allowed. They apply to everything on Volk: posts, comments, stories, profiles, messages, groups, live streams, live chat, marketplace and job listings. They are part of our Terms of Use.
We enforce these rules with automated tools and human review. Depending on how serious a violation is, we may remove content, limit features, suspend an account, or permanently ban it, and in the most serious cases report it to law enforcement.
Zero tolerance
Child safety
We do not allow any content or behavior that sexualizes, exploits or endangers minors. This includes real, drawn, animated, computer-generated and AI-generated images or text; sexual comments about minors; grooming or attempting to contact minors for sexual purposes; and sharing or requesting such material, including links to it. We remove it, ban the accounts involved, preserve the evidence, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), which works with law enforcement worldwide. Volk is for adults 18 and over.
If you see anything like this, report it right away in the app or to [email protected]. Do not share, download or screenshot it, even to report it.
Terrorism and violent extremism
No content that praises, supports, recruits for or represents terrorist or violent extremist organizations or attacks, and no livestreaming or sharing footage of attacks.
Nudity and sexual content
Volk does not allow nudity or sexually explicit content. That includes exposed genitals, exposed female nipples, exposed buttocks, sexual acts, and sexually explicit text, images, video and live streams, whether real, drawn or AI-generated.
Swimwear, underwear in non-sexual contexts, fitness, fashion, art that is not sexually explicit, breastfeeding, and medical or educational content are allowed. Photos and videos are checked automatically before they are published, and uploads that contain nudity are rejected. If you think something was blocked by mistake, email [email protected].
Never share intimate images of anyone without their consent. This will get you banned.
Violence and threats
- No threats of violence against anyone, and no calls for violence.
- No glorifying or celebrating violent crimes or the suffering of victims.
- No graphic gore shared for shock value. Newsworthy or documentary content may be allowed if it is marked sensitive.
- No content that promotes or encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. Talking about your own experiences and recovery is allowed. If you or someone you know is in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line such as 988 in the United States.
Harassment and hate
- Disagree with ideas, argue, criticize public figures. But don't target people with repeated unwanted contact, pile-ons, or insults meant to degrade or intimidate them.
- No attacks on people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity, disability or serious disease, including dehumanizing language and slurs used to attack.
- No wishing harm on people, and no encouraging others to harass someone.
Privacy
- Don't post other people's private information, such as home addresses, private phone numbers or emails, identity documents, financial information, or medical records, without their permission.
- Don't post photos or video of people in private places, or content meant to expose someone's private life, without consent.
- Don't threaten to expose someone's private information.
Authenticity
- Don't impersonate people, brands or organizations in a misleading way. Parody and fan accounts must say so clearly in their name or bio.
- No fake accounts, bought or sold accounts, or networks of accounts used to mislead people.
- No spam: repetitive posts, mass unsolicited messages, misleading links, follow/unfollow churn, or fake engagement.
- Label AI-generated images and video that look realistic, using the "AI-generated" option in the editor.
- Don't share false information that could cause real-world harm, such as dangerous medical claims or false information about how to vote.
Illegal and regulated goods and activities
No selling, buying or facilitating: illegal drugs, weapons, ammunition and explosives, stolen goods, counterfeit goods, fake documents, human trafficking, sexual services, gambling where it is illegal, hacked accounts or data, or anything else that is illegal where you or the buyer are. No scams, phishing, pyramid schemes or financial fraud.
Intellectual property
Only post content you made or have the right to share. Don't stream movies, TV, sports or music you don't have rights to. Copyright owners can report infringement as described in our Terms of Use.
Live streams
Everything above applies to live video and live chat. Streamers are responsible for what happens on their stream and should moderate their chat. We may end streams that break these rules while they are live.
Marketplace and jobs
Listings must describe real items and real jobs accurately, with honest prices. Job listings must not discriminate illegally, ask applicants to pay to apply, or be fronts for scams or multi-level marketing.
Sensitive content
Some content is allowed but should be marked sensitive in the editor so people can choose whether to see it, such as newsworthy violence or medical imagery. Content that is marked sensitive still has to follow every other rule here.
Reporting and appeals
Use the report option on any post, comment, profile or message to tell us about content that breaks these rules. Reports are confidential; we don't tell the reported person who reported them. If we removed your content or restricted your account and you think we got it wrong, email [email protected] with your username and what happened, and a person will review it.
